Hello everyone, Helen from Help is Hope Foundation here. I wanted to share an important discovery that could really benefit some of our CalFresh EBT cardholders.

We recently learned that under certain circumstances, CalFresh recipients may be able to use their EBT cards at select restaurants through the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP). This program allows eligible CalFresh recipients who are homeless, elderly (age 60 or older), or disabled to use their benefits to purchase prepared meals at approved restaurants.

This could change things for those who may have difficulty preparing meals at home or lack access to cooking facilities. The program aims to provide more food options and improve nutrition for vulnerable populations.

Now, it's important to note that not all CalFresh recipients qualify, and the program isn't available everywhere in California. But for those who are eligible and live in participating counties, this could significantly expand their food choices.
