Help Is Hope Foundation: Join Us to Combat the 74% of Struggling Families in Stanislaus County

The Need is Great

In our beloved community, many of our neighbors are facing significant challenges. Families struggle with food insecurity, seniors experience isolation, and young people seek guidance and opportunities for a brighter future. Shockingly, over half of Stanislaus County's population struggles to make ends meet, with 74% of those being working families. The recent hardships have only intensified these needs, making our mission more critical than ever.

Our Vision for the Future

We are thrilled to announce that we are working towards securing grant funding for a new headquarters in Stanislaus County. This facility will serve as a hub for our programs, allowing us to expand our services and reach more individuals who need assistance. With this new space, we will be able to provide vital resources and support to those who…

Hello everyone, Helen from Help is Hope Foundation here. I wanted to share an important discovery that could really benefit some of our CalFresh EBT cardholders.

We recently learned that under certain circumstances, CalFresh recipients may be able to use their EBT cards at select restaurants through the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP). This program allows eligible CalFresh recipients who are homeless, elderly (age 60 or older), or disabled to use their benefits to purchase prepared meals at approved restaurants.

This could change things for those who may have difficulty preparing meals at home or lack access to cooking facilities. The program aims to provide more food options and improve nutrition for vulnerable populations.

Now, it's important to note that not all CalFresh recipients qualify, and the program isn't available everywhere in California. But for those who are eligible and live in participating counties, this could significantly expand their food choices.

Yo, what's good fam? It's ya boy Leal coming at you with some juicy tea I just spilled while doing my usual deep dive into the 211 Stanislaus Info Hub. Like, I was just vibing, scrolling through the site, you know, as one does when they're procrastinating on that Social Justice essay (don't @ me), and I stumbled upon this lowkey hidden treasure.

So check it, there's this super lit group called "No Cost Stanislaus" chilling under the community connections tab. It's like, not even advertised yet, which makes it feel like I just unlocked some secret level in a game, you feel me?

No-Cost Stanislaus is a unique online community hosted by the 211 Stanislaus Info Hub, dedicated exclusively to listing free items available to local residents.

Unlike other platforms that mix free and for-sale items, this community focuses solely on no-strings-attached giveaways, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. It's an invaluable resource for those in need, including families starting out, individuals rebuilding in recovery, or financial crises, and anyone struggling with the rising cost of living and inflation.

Community Guidelines:

  1. List only completely free items

  2. Provide clear, accurate descriptions of items

  3. Include photos when possible

  4. The first to respond gets the item

  5. Arrange pickup or delivery privately

  6. Be respectful and courteous in all interactions

  7. Remove listings promptly once items are claimed

  8. No selling, trading, or bartering allowed

  9. Keep personal information private

  10. Report any suspicious activity to moderators

By connecting those who have items to give with those in need, No-Cost Stanislaus is true community support and helps ensure that usable items find new homes rather than ending up in landfills.
