FREE Narcan Stanislaus! What is Naloxone? Naloxone is a life-saving medication that acts as an opioid antagonist. It works by binding to opioid receptors in the brain, reversing the effects of opioid overdose, including life-threatening respiratory depression. This powerful intervention can rapidly restore normal breathing in a person whose breathing has slowed or stopped due to overdosing on opioids like fentanyl, heroin, oxycodone, codeine, hydrocodone, and morphine (CDPH) (CDPH) (DHCS). Get Trained & Get Equipped: Our FREE Narcan/Naloxone Basic Training will prepare you to respond to an overdose emergency confidently.
